Life started out in Nagano for Kodiak born into a family of tradition and wealth. However it was not a perfect life. He was the son of a mistress and the youngest of the two brothers. His fathers first wife passed away a year before Kody was born and in his grief his father had slept with the nanny. The man loved both of his sons the most and wanted them both to take over the family company. Kody felt like he never fit into the family, always running off and having to found and taken back by the family’s butler.

Tired of his youngest son’s behavior, he became strict and somewhat abusive towards home in hopes of straightening him out. The straw finally broke when he discovered his son with another young man in bed together. After the boy was taken back home, Kody was beaten severely and thrown to the curb in a bad part of town like the trash his father saw him as. The night was a rough one for him and one he never told anyone about not even the cop who saved him that night.

Kody bounced around foster home until he was thirteen years old, that is when a family was finally the right fit and didn’t seem to mind the closed off teen. Life became routine at that point even though he barely spoke and would escape into story books for hours with his blessing. He tried his hardest to feel, to be apart of the family but it was hard and deep down he was scared. They never adopted Kody out of his refusal and they respected his wishes even though they never really had an explanation.

When he was old enough, he left and went to college in another city with a sport scholarship in hockey. Kody also took a evening job to give him spending money and to support himself so he did not have to rely on the family who took him in. Once he was out of school, he turned down some pro ball contracts and went off to the police academy.

Thanks to his blessing, Kody quickly rose thorough the ranks and became one of the best profilers kn the force. He would travel around with a special unit that dealt with serial killers, spree killers and all the seemly violent crimes. There because a point two years down the road from the starting point that this all became too much for his mind to handle anymore. His boss had him checked into a mental ward where he would spend six months recovering.

The incident was covered up in his official police file and he would go back to work but he watched over and had guidance from a psychologist the team brought in. Kody’s career as a cop would end when he got too close to a serial killer and nearly killed (or so the memories he was given tell him) The same serial killer that killed the young daughter of the family who took him in, the only killer to get away from him. It’s a case that still haunts him to this day.

After a long road of recovery, he took up teaching at the University. A highly decorated cop who now teaches Criminology.
